The fine welded mono toupees are a popular choice because of their durability. While they are not as invisible as the lace men’s hairpieces, they are fairly invisible and hold up longer in general.
Having some PU is more common as it makes the glue/taping process easier and faster. If the PU is on sides and back, it will not be noticed since it isn’t on the hairline. You could glue or tape the PU and put tape at the hairline for a more invisible front. PU may have touch detectability, but that’s not a “given” if the PU is adhered taped/glued properly.
The general idea should be, the older you are the lower the density. So under 40 could choose medium to medium heavy, but over 40 should go with medium light or less, and over 50 should go with extra light or light. That kind of thing. A light density unit still has full coverage.
Some people go to just a regular stylist, and this option can be the least expensive. Just explain to them in confidence that you are wearing and it would be advisable to take the length down slowly.
